Since not a lot happened on Day 13, I'm throwing in some various shipboard photos that I took during the cruise.
Day 13 itself had us leaving the ship early in the morning, making one final pass over the dreaded Route 3 and back to San José. We were scheduled to stop at the Britt Coffee Plantation, something I was in no mood to do after days of the flu and surviving Route 3. But it turned out to be quite entertaining, a sort of Renaissance Faire tour, as the guides role-played coffee plantation workers, flirting with each other and generally being very silly. So I was very pleasantly surprised.
After that, it was time to brave the hassles of customs, airline travel, and customs again before finally arriving home, where I at least was very happy to return, much as I enjoyed the trip.

First Mate Jorge supervises Third Mate Eric as he pilots the ship. Note that Eric is steering with his feet. |
The ship's dining room, set for dinner. Note the buffet table to the right, which split the room.
| Looking down the second deck hallway, from the library and exercise room at the bow to the doorway (with the round window) at the exit to the stern, where we boarded the Zodiacs. |
Guides Federico and Carlos showing off their "Costa Rica Ultimate" Frisbee. If you want to play Frisbee in San José, Federico is the one to talk to.

The "Britt Players," explaining to us the harvesting of coffee. Normally when one of us started aiming a camera, they'd mug for it elaborately. Somehow they didn't notice me. I wish I'd gotten a better photo of the girl - she was really cute! |

A last landscape image of Costa Rica, this one from the grounds of the Britt Plantation. |
