Kidwelly Industrial Museum is the site of a former tin plate mill. Originally it was water powered, then steam engines were installed, and in the 20c it was electrified. Eventually it went out of business, because it depended on too much labor and could not compete with continuous strip mills. In the steam era they mined their coal on site, and this tower supports the pulley by which cages were raised and lowered into the mine shaft. NEXT LIST
