This is the second, or stone, floor. An uncovered pair of millstones is seen on the left, separated by a piece of wood so you can see the furrows in the bed stone. A complete, cased stone is in the foreground. Grain enters the hole in the middle of the upper stone (runner, or moving stone) from bins on the third floor, and meal comes out at the outer edge of the stones into the case, from which it falls into the chute to the first floor (meal floor), where it is bagged.
