Llanthony Priory, like most monasteries in England, fell into ruin after Henry VIII claimed them and gave them to his followers. It is now privately owned, though under the protection of the Welsh monuments agency CADW, and the hotel you can see in the background through the arch occupies some of the priory buildings. NEXT LIST
