Notes

BIR-MAR-DEA: DUR001

BURIAL: Records of Fairmount Cemetery. Lot No. 33, Block No. 2, Grave no. 9.

Living at 1520 Detroit Street, Denver at time of marriage. According to article in The Denver Republican for 7 August 1901, CK Durbin was "until last April, superintendent of the Denver Tramway. At that time he entered the firm of the J. Durbin Surgical & Dental Supply company." An article in the [Rocky Mountain?] News for 9 Oct1901 says that CKD traveled to Europe for the Colorado & Southern railroad to "investigate the application of electricity to suburban traffic by railroads in European countries. He left Denver July 17 and visited London, Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Budapest, and several points in Switzerland." His marriage to Jessie Edgar had been planned for October 1901, but was suddenly moved up to August, in Rahway. They immediately caught the SS Etruria for a European honeymoon. A menu for the Cunard liner RMS Servia dated 20 Sep 1901 suggests they were away for 7-8 weeks. See clippings for various accounts.
