Lykara Charters in Concert

May 21, 2000 Performance at HCCPA

Responding to pressure from her many, many devoted fans (plus her piano teachers), Lykara Charters consented to a performance in the renown "Black Box Theatre" at the Howard County Center for the Performing Arts, in Ellicot City, Maryland. Here we present a 40 second QuickTime clip of her performance of "Imps," by Christopher Norton. Sadly, because the movie was taken by a Nikon CoolPix 990, there is no sound. (Of course, since it isn't a movie or video camera, this shouldn't be too shocking.)

Lykara also was presented with an Amadeus Award for 1999-2000 in recognition for past public performances, as well as a special Music Teachers Association award and a certificate in recognition of her role as a teacher's aide for Larissa Karp's introductory music classes.

Still more indulgence as Lykara performs the traditional "laying on of hands," healing the Yamaha piano of Dutch Elm disease. Click on image for (much) larger image.

One final indulgent picture: Lykara performs a rare silent riff while contemplating her extreme hunger and thirst. Click on image for (much) larger image.
