Chapel Hill and Roanoke

In late July, I went down to visit my parents in Roanoke, and we also went to Chapel Hill to see the Washington Freedom play the Carolina Courage (WUSA soccer) and to visit Morehead Planetarium.

Posing with the sundial in front of the planetarium.

The Zeiss planetarium projector - one of only 12 in the world.

The project console. (Sad thing is that I have photos almost identical to these two from nearly 30 years ago.)

I liked this mural that we saw on a building on Franklin St, not far from the planetarium.

Back home, it's a hazy day in the Star City as I take this photo from the overlook in front of the Mill Mountain Star.
